The follow up to Brave, Afraid of Sunlight is a more song-based effort, but the music still has all the depth, texture and atmosphere that defines the sound of Marillion. The sophisticated arrangements and orchestration are packed into more concise songs with greater pop sensibility (for the most part). I think of this as their "Pet Sounds".
